Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) was left in extreme danger during last night’s EastEnders, as — alone with Leo King (Tom Wells) in a posh London hotel — she discovered the truth about who her new fella really is and — by association — what his grim intentions are.
With it being Whitney’s birthday, Leo decided to celebrate the occasion by taking the next step in his sick mission to get revenge on behalf of paedophile dad Tony (Chris Coghill), and thus he booked a night stay in an upmarket hotel for the pair of them.
However, Callum (Tony Clay) continued to grow suspicious about the sneaky paralegal’s intentions — especially after Jay (Jamie Borthwick) revealed that Leo had purchased flowers to take up the cemetery. Given that Leo isn’t from round here — what takes him to the local graveyard?
Putting that police training to good use, Callum continued to investigate further, but Leo — having realised that Callum hasn’t got the message — was having none of his meddling, and proceeded to threaten him. However, being the good guy that he is, Callum refused to back down and informed Tiffany (Maisie Smith) of his worries.
Tiffany initially refused to believe him, but the more she thought about it, the more she realised he had a point, so she rang up Bianca (Patsy Palmer) — who revealed that Leo is Tony’s son.
Meanwhile, Whitney and Leo had arrived at the posh hotel, and the pair proceeded to get better acquainted. As she headed towards the shower, Leo turned off her phone — which highlighted that she’d received several calls from Tiff.
Tiffany informed Callum and Ben (Max Bowden) of what she’d learned, and as they set off, Tiff tried the hotel once more — and, this time, successfully managed to get in touch with Whitney. She informed her of Leo’s true identity — leaving Whitney speechless — but before she could leave, Leo shut the door, and enquired where she was off to.
Leo’s intentions are anything but honourable — which means that Whitney is in grave danger and in the next episode, she desperately tries to escape — doing everything she can to get to safety.
With Leo having proven just what he’s capable of after he bludgeoned his mum Michaela (Fiona Allen) with a briefcase — seemingly leaving her for dead, but that’s yet to be confirmed — it’s safe to assume that Whitney will find herself in a similar sort of danger.
With Callum and Tiffany on their way to the hotel to rescue her, the question is: will they arrive in time before Leo enacts his sick revenge plan?
Or will Whitney find herself facing a similar fate to that of Michaela’s?
EastEnders airs these scenes Thursday 12th December at 7:30pm on BBC One.
